Report ports of call
All vessels, including fishing vessels, recreational boats and historic vessels of 300 gross tons or more, must report port of call by using Safe Seanet.
Various routines may apply at Orkland for allocating berth space.
Maintenance work
From week 36, mitigation measures will be carried out at Quay 2 and Quay 3. The work depends on tidal conditions and will take place intermittently, in intervals of about one week at a time.
During the period, it will be necessary to notify both arrival and departure when calling at the port. Information regarding this requirement will be provided when the vessel call is registered.
Mitigation measures means repairing existing erosion damage to prevent further out washing of the backfill material that supports the quay foundations.
The purpose of the work is to restore the structural load-bearing capacity and prevent future weakening caused by erosion.
This will help extend the functional lifespan of the quays.
The work will not affect calls or port operations. The only difference is that both arrival and departure must be reported, so we can notify the workers during the work period.
